As an important equipment in the field of industrial transmission, the production technology of VF series worm gear reducer integrates material science, machining, heat treatment and other key links to ensure the excellent performance and reliable quality of the product.

In terms of material selection, the worm wheel is usually made of tin bronze alloy with good friction reduction and wear resistance, which can effectively reduce the coefficient of friction when engaging with the worm, reduce wear and prolong service life. The worm gear is usually made of high-strength alloy steel, such as 40Cr, 42CrMo, etc. After appropriate heat treatment, these steels have high strength, hardness and toughness, and can withstand large torque and transmission load. After the material is selected, it needs to be pre-treated. For steel, usually forging process, through the forging can improve the organisational structure of the metal, grain refinement, improve the strength and toughness of the material. At the same time, forging can also eliminate the residual stress within the material, reducing the deformation in the subsequent processing. For copper alloys, melting and casting will be carried out to ensure uniform alloy composition and stable casting quality.

The machining accuracy of the worm directly affects the transmission performance of the reducer. Generally, CNC lathe is used for turning processing to accurately control key dimensions such as the outer diameter of the worm, the tooth angle, the guide range and so on. After the turning is completed, hobbing will be carried out, and the accurate spiral tooth shape will be processed on the worm shaft by special hobbing tools. In order to further improve the hardness and wear resistance of the tooth surface, the worm will also be carburising quenching or induction hardening treatment, so that the tooth surface hardness reaches HRC58 - 62, while the heart still maintains good toughness. The processing of the worm wheel is relatively complex, firstly, the basic shape of the worm wheel is processed on the CNC lathe, and then the tooth shape is processed by hobbing or gear insertion. As the worm gear material is copper alloy with low hardness, in order to ensure the machining accuracy, it is necessary to use the appropriate cutting parameters and tools in the machining process to avoid the problem of tooth shape error and surface roughness exceeding the standard. After the machining is completed, the worm wheel is usually subjected to aging treatment to eliminate the residual stresses generated during the machining process and stabilise the dimensional accuracy.

The case of VF series worm gear reducer is mostly made of grey cast iron or ductile cast iron. Grey cast iron has good casting performance, vibration damping performance and cutting performance, which can effectively reduce the vibration and noise when the reducer is running. Ductile cast iron has higher strength and toughness, suitable for occasions with high requirements for load carrying capacity. In the casting process, through the optimisation of casting process parameters, such as pouring temperature, pouring speed, sand properties, etc., to ensure that the internal organisation of the box body is dense, without shrinkage, porosity and other defects.

After the assembly is completed, a comprehensive performance test should be carried out on the reducer. Including no-load test, load test, noise test, temperature rise test and so on. The no-load test mainly detects whether the reducer runs smoothly without load, and whether there is abnormal noise and vibration. The load test simulates the actual working conditions and detects the transmission efficiency and output torque of the reducer under different loads. Noise test and temperature rise test are used to assess the noise level and heat generation of the reducer during operation to ensure that it meets the relevant standards and usage requirements.
